Young
people are an integral part of the family at McDonough. "Making your best
friends your church friends", is a priority for our teens. The group consist
of those in the sixth grade through the twelfth grade. The youth group is
lead by
a deacon and four other families. Activities are planned each month for the
youth with the joint participation of each of the youth leader. Each month
our group participates in the Area Wide Devotionals with the Southside
congregations, also on the first Sunday night of each month we have our "in
house" devotional for the McDonough youth group. Events such as River
rafting, a Jr. Sr. Banquet, holiday gatherings, movie and a pizza night, and
lock-ins are some of the events throughout the year. We participate with
other southside congregations in a week during the summer at Camp Inagehi. A
summer intern works in the summer with our youth to encourage spiritual
growth. One on one Bible studies, group Bible studies and discussions and
sharing the gospel with our friends is a priority for the group under the
leadership of the summer intern.
